2025 Discover Botswana Safari - Gallery
I’ve just wrapped up two back to back “Discover Botswana” photo safaris. I often find I have a hard time elucidating these trips. I sit down, as I am now, and try to write something that accurately portrays the experience of being deep in Africa, surrounded by wild land and wildlife. Usually I scrawl out too many adjectives and adverbs, trying to make it read how it felt. I fail. Always.
So, I’m not going to try it this year. I’m just going to say that the trips were magic. Each in their own way. On the first trip was a private group, an extended family. And as Sam, one of our local guides said, “They were the luckiest group ever.” And maybe it’s true? We had painted dogs, and lions, and cheetahs and on one day six different leopards BEFORE morning tea. So yeah, pretty lucky.
But the second group, my regularly scheduled trip, we had a massive herd of elephants at sunset, lions roaring every night, a leopard draped like a rug over a tree branch, and a string of beautiful moments that I’m still working my through. So yeah, they were the luckiest group ever also.
These trips, my friends, they will knock your socks off.
I’ve got a few spaces left on next year’s regularly scheduled trip, and I have an opening in my schedule for a private group. If your photo club, family, or a group of friends are interested, let me know!
And check out the photos below. All of these were captured from mid-April to early May in Botswana.
