With the world filled with fear, anxiety, and danger over the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, I was very pleased to get a bit of good news a week ago: I’ve been invited back to instruct during Camp Denali’s Photography Emphasis Week in 2021! The dates are 27 August – 3 September, in my opinion, the perfect week to be in Denali National Park. There will be two sessions, one of three nights and one of four, or you can stay for the whole week.

Camp Denali is a truly spectacular location: unparalleled views of Denali (literally from your front door), great hiking, amazing landscape photography, and very good potential for wildlife. Above all, Camp has the unique permission to explore the park road in their own vehicles each day. For the photography group, that means we’ll be given a bus to ourselves, and go wherever we want to look for the best landscape and wildlife opportunities.

I could wax on for hours about how great Camp Denali is, but I’ll spare you the verbal theatrics. In short, Camp Denali is the place that made me fall in love with Alaska, and making the journey to Camp feels a little like going home.

Oh yeah, and the food is amazing.

I can’t wait to get back.
