It’s Not Too Late for 2020!

If you were hoping to take a workshop with me in the next year, it’s not too late to sign up! I’ve got a few spaces left on some very cool autumn trips in Alaska (think aurora, bears, and spectacular autumn color), and a few spaces on my Discover Botswana workshop are also still up for grabs.

2021 Dates Announced!

I know it seems early to be thinking about 2021, but it’s not! I’ve already been fielding inquiries about private trips and workshops, talking to birders about their plans for Alaska next year, and my popular Arctic Aurora Workshops are already getting bookings. Contact me to sign up for a trip, or if you have questions!

Arctic Aurora Workshops 13-17 March and 1-5 April, 2021.

Spots are already filling on these popular workshops! These trips have filled, every year, at least 9 months in advance. (The March trip has only 3 spots remaining, and we are over a year out!). Four nights of epic northern lights photography in one of the most beautiful and remote spots in North America: the Brooks Range. All transportation, lodging, and food provided. Starts and ends in Fairbanks, Alaska. $2700/person.

Alaska: Mountains, Glaciers, and Coast: 25 June – 2 July, 2021.

I created this popular itinerary to put the best of Alaska into one trip, and it’s worked! Starting in the rolling, boreal forest hills of Fairbanks and the interior, we venture south into the remote eastern Alaska Range where we spend two days photographing the mountains, tundra, and alpine glaciers from the remote and beautiful Black Rapids Lodge. Leaving the Alaska Range we travel south to the coastal village of Valdez where we have three days to photograph Prince William Sound, take a boat tour to look at glaciers, whales and marine wildlife, and photograph the abundant waterfalls, and mountains of the surrounding Chugach Range. We then cross Prince William Sound by ferry to Whittier and then on to Seward. We wrap up our trip with hikes to Exit Glacier, and a boat trip through Kenai Fjords National Park where we can get up close and personal with some tidewater glaciers, whales, and marine life. Trip starts in Fairbanks and ends in Anchorage. $4800/person. Combine this trip with the Bears of Katmai trip for the complete Alaska experience.

Bears of Katmai: 5-11 July, 2021

A popular workshop, this trip will get you up close with the bears of Brooks Falls, and the Katmai/Lake Clark coast. We’ll start the trip with three full days at Brooks Falls with an optional day-trip to the Valley of 10,000 Smokes. Each day, we’ll arrive as early as possible allowing us time to photograph without crowds, and we’ll linger until early evening, long after the tourists have left.  After our time in Katmai, we’ll head down the Kenai Peninsula to the coastal town of Homer, Alaska where we’ll have a private boat trip to photograph the marine wildlife of Kachemak Bay, spend some time photographing the abundant eagles, and taking a bush flight from Homer to the coast of either Katmai or Lake Clark National Parks to photograph coastal brown bears. Bears of Katmai trip starts and finishes in Anchorage. $6200/person. Combine this with the Mountains, Glaciers, and Coast Workshop for the best Alaska has to offer.
